BluWave Audio

BluWave Audio, a division of Universal Studios Sound Department, is an 18,000 square foot facility dedicated to Digital Mastering, Restoration, Sound Transfer, Trailer Mixing. BluWave Audio features 2 large studios, 4 mixing suites and 3 Sonic editorial suites.

I really like the design theme for this facility.

Phoenix Sound

Phoenix Sound has been operating since 2001 and was originally based at the Music Centre in Wembley. Numerous major motion pictures have used the studio including Lord of the Rings.

StarCity Recording

StarCity Recording is an 18,000 square foot recording studio located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The main mixing and tracking room is equipped with a Solid State Logic XL 9000 K Series console and a scoring stage capable of accommodating a 40-piece orchestra. The audio post room, geared for film and television work, is attached to a 33”™ x 17”™ Foley studio, which can be utilized as an additional tracking space. The studio also features a 30”™ x 40”™ THX specified mix theatre equipped with a 96 input Harrison digital film console and a 6.1 Dolby Digital EX monitoring system.

The Barber Shop Studios is a stunning studio located in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. The studio is owned and operated by Scott Barber and Mark Salamone. The Barber Shop property includes a full-service marina and a fine dining restaurant.

Beach City Studios

Beach City Studios is located in San Clemente, California. The studio opened in April 2003 and it was designed by Chris Pelonis. They offer a 48-channel API Legacy Plus console, a Yamaha DM2000 console, and Pro Tools|HD3. I really like the features of the tracking room.

The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is film composer Mark Mancina’s studio located in San Bernadino, California. The studio opened in January of 2003.

A very nice home studio. And you should see the house. I wonder if it is still up for sale.


Tierra Studios

Tierra Studios is located in Houston, Texas. Control Room A, the first picture, features a similar equipment list to my own studio except for the monitoring system. The monitors include Dynaudio, Canadian amplifiers courtesy of Bryston and the ubiquitous Yahama NS-10s. Control Room B, the second picture, offers mixing, mastering and post. Randy Miller is the studio manager.

Sears and Recording Studios

Sears has been in the business of selling recording studios for the home. Imagine the hit records you could create with this setup. The picture is from the Sears catalog. I just can’t quite remember the year.
