House Concert
On Wednesday evening, I was able to host a house concert to share some Christmas music.
We had most of the attributes of a stage environment — sound system, multimedia system and even a bit of lighting thrown in for good measure. It was a wonderful evening of music and friendship. That said, it is definitely more challenging playing to a small audience in an intimate setting than to a larger audience in a concert setting. And with only a four-piece band things get a lot more exposed in terms of the overall musicianship particularly at lower volume levels.
Challenging and rewarding. I played through a compact rig: my 12-watt 57 Deluxe, a wonderful Tele and just a bit of delay for effects. Some great tones off that little amp.
Here are a few shots of the setup for the evening.
Very nice, Richard. I love the environment of a house concert. T
