Magic Kingdom

We had an open day to go and see the parks. We switched between the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom. And, before we fly out tomorrow, we will spend some time at Epcot.

Here are a few pictures from the day. Cinderella’s Castle is the most visible landmark in the park and I am certain that it is one of the most heavily photographed. Fortunately, the sky provided a nice backdrop for this shot.

The Pirates of the Caribbean is one of our favourite rides at the park and it is also one of the most difficult to shoot. I left my big Nikon D3s at home. I was shooting with my Fuji X-Pro 1. And I was quite impressed with the quality of the images coming from this camera. I was able to grab scenes like this one shooting handheld in very low light conditions.

Near the Jungle Cruise ride there is a gathering point with several wood figures. They seemed to be letting off some steam.

The park was all decorated for Halloween.

I caught Matthew just as he was coming down Splash Mountain’s final plunge.

It is a small world. After all.
