Another Year Older
It must be my birthday. When I checked my email this morning, numerous greetings streamed in from Facebook. The funny thing about getting older is that the velocity of time increases. This in apparent conflict with time dilation.
When two observers are in relative uniform motion and uninfluenced by any gravitational mass, the point of view of each will be that the other’s (moving) clock is ticking at a slower rate than the local clock. The faster the relative velocity, the greater the magnitude of time dilation. It is often interpreted as time “slowing down” for the other (moving) clock.
My time is not slowing down.
Richard,
Many Happy Returns and all the best of your birthday!
Rob
I trust you had a wonderful birthday, Richard! God bless you in the year ahead. Trevor
