Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of our favourite rides at Walt Disney World. My only time at the Magic Kingdom was late Saturday evening last week before we flew back to Kingston. We arrived at the park around 9:30pm — it was open until midnight.

The crowds? Unbelievable. I have never seen the park so jammed.

Turns out that there was a special fireworks display at 10pm and everyone was trying to make their way to the centre of the park. Without too much success mind you. We somehow managed to go against all of the crowds and we found our way to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The ride was empty. The three of us had our own boat. A private ride.

I took a number of shots. Literally in the dark. Handheld. Not the sharpest of photos but considering the ridiculous ISO, I was shooting wide open at 12,800 ISO (yes, twelve THOUSAND), and the platform, a boat in water, the shots are surprisingly good.

Numbers 37, 38, 39 and 40 of 50 shots at 50mm.
