The Big Apple
Although out of commission for the week, I did come across this piece in today’s Financial Post. My how times change.
In May, Apple Inc. surpassed Microsoft Corp. to become the world”™s most valuable technology company. Since then, many have speculated that Steve Jobs and Co. might continue growing, until the day Apple is declared the world”™s most valuable company company.
Today, Apple took the last step before that prediction comes true.
According to Bloomberg data from Thursday afternoon, the Cupertino California-based tech titan briefly surpassed PetroChina to become the second-most valuable business on Earth. The two companies are currently tied in second place, each with a total market valuation of approximately US$273.7-billion.
Exxon Mobil Corp. remains the reigning champion, with a current market value of US$321.74-billion.
