Yes. The xbox 360 scratches disks. When we picked up a new title from EB games last week they asked us if we wanted “scratch insurance” for the disk. Good thing we spent the three dollars on the insurance as the disk was scratched last night.

      The XBOX 360 is known to scratch game disks. It can happen if you move the XBOX around. In this case we did not move it. The game disc was scratched by the player. Fortunately, the game insurance covered a replacement disc. We have a second XBOX and that player did not scratch the disc. Since this post, the first XBOX died and was replaced under warranty by Microsoft. Hope that helps answer the question.
