Reading List

At this time of year I begin to prepare my reading list for the new year. I typically go through 50 to 70 books a year. I have received a number of emails asking about my reading list from 2006. So here it comes. You can also check out my reading list from 2005 here.

My reading list is broken out into the following categories:

Here are some of the books that I read in 2006. I read about 30 more books in addition to the list below and I also take in about 10 magazines a month. Hi Robert,

I really enjoyed your book. Your perspective on a balanced life with different LifeZones and your focus on the importance of setting a vision and context for the Financial Health LifeZone was a great learning for me. I have spent a lot of time over the years working through my personal financial planning as a discrete and separate activity from the other areas of my life.

This was the first time that I used a book on financial planning in tandem with an online resource (www.SixDayFinancialMakeover.com). It was an excellent way for me to apply all the various learnings from the book in a personal and direct fashion.

It did take me a little longer than six days to go through the material but that is because there was so much good content in the book. One tool that I really liked was the Goal Tracker Report Card. I went back over the past ten years in my own portfolio to get a better view as to how well I was progressing on my goals.

This would be a book that I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in either starting or improving their personal financial management and planning skills.

Thank you for writing such a great book!

Saw that one of your books is The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. Just wanted to drop a line and say a big-time thanks for spreading the word about Dave and debt freedom! Here’s looking at you, kid.
