Mickie Most opened RAK Studios in 1976. The studio is located just north of Regent’s Park in northwest London, England. The studios have played host to artists like Paul McCartney, Simply Red, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Al Green, Rod Stewart, Annie Lennox and Michael Jackson.
Mickie died from a rare form of cancer in May of 2003. Mickie was very successful in his career and he amassed an impressive fortune estimated at over 50 million pounds. RAK Studios continues to operate. Studio 2 offers an interesting design. You can see in the picture below that the control room is built over top of the recording space.
