Forbes has a piece on the fatality rate of various industries. Their top ten list of most dangerous jobs:

Agriculture: 30.1 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Mining: 28.3 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Transportation and Warehousing: 17.8 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Construction: 11.9 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Utilities : 6.1 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Wholesale Trade: 4.4 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Professional and Business Services: 3.2 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Other Services: 3.0 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Manufacturing: 2.8 fatalities per 100,000 workers
Government: 2.5 fatalities per 100,000 workers

Working for the government seems to be the safest job.
