Truthiness

CNN reports that truthiness is the word that best reflects 2005. Truthiness is defined as stating concepts one wishes or believes to be true rather than facts.

I have noticed of late an increasing inability to discover truth in communication. Perhaps it is because information is so readily available that I find that I first consider the source, then make a decision as to whether to accept the truthiness of the source, and I maintain or change my decision if a different, more credible source comes along.

“truthiness”…if that doesn’t scare you right out of your mind… we’re doomed.

In the CNN article, Michael Adams states “Until we can manage to get the two of them back together again, we’re not going make much progress.”

What can do that in a culture that celebrates “truthiness”, relativity, and post-modernism?

What does that do to the authority of the Word of God?

It throws it all out. God help us all…
