Vacation Break
I could get used to this lifestyle. I have been going to bed late and getting up late. When I am working, I generally have to retire by 10pm as I get up around 5am. For the past few days, I have been staying up until midnight or so and getting up around 7:30am.
I am not captive to a calendar and I approach the day completely differently. Unstructured. There is a sense of having a lot of time and there is much less stress. A few errands? No rush. A late lunch? Sure. Play some xbox games with my son? No problem.
Most of all, I have been enjoying the time with my family. It is so nice to have everyone at home.
And there is a surprising amount of things to get done. I am obviously still spending time on studio work. I have a session today and another one tomorrow. There are several projects around the house. I have been organizing all of our digital photos. I am in the midst of redesigning the blog. I have been breaking in the new guitar amp. In short, I am still very busy. Just not stressed.
Career and work seems so distant right now.
That’s weird, what you described sounds a lot like my life all the time. I wonder what my secret is? Well I’m glad you’re enjoying your holidays, 5:00 am mornings may alone be the reason you get stressed. I know the thought alone would kill me.
Hey Steve. I think your secret is that you are a student. Some people have told me that as you get older you need less sleep. And that may be true. However, 5:00am mornings are never fun no matter how much sleep you get.
🙂
